The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) are partnering on the occasion of the "2 billion kilometers to safety campaign", a global campaign calling on people all over the world to cover the distance travelled by refugees each year in a virtual walk.
According to UNHCR, an unprecedented 68.5 million people around the world have been forced from home, over half of whom are under the age of 18. The 2 billion kilometers target represents the cumulative global kilometers refugees walk every year in search of a safe shelter while escaping from wars or persecution.

The campaign encourages people to support refugees by championing individual acts of solidarity. These acts, when taken together, acknowledge the resilience and strength of refugees.

The RBFA, the national youth teams, Red Flames and the Red Devils are joining UNHCR's campaign and are asking their supporters to join the global movement.

The Belgian campaign website has a specific landing page dedicated to the RFBA's support to UNHCR www.stepwithrefugees.be. The video of the campaign features Kassandra Missipo, Rocky Bushiri and Yoeri Tielemans who express their support for the campaign.
